Hajaratu Sini, a 58-year-old housewife in Adamawa State, was detained by officers from the state police command for allegedly using a stick to kill her husband’s side chic after she saw them with their pants down.

The suspect, who is from Wumbirmi Tilli in the Michika Local Government Area, is accused of murdering Kwada Drambi, her husband’s mistress, on July 31.

The Adamawa state police command paraded 38 suspects in Yola on Tuesday, August 9. Among them was Hajaratu, a mother of two who wed her husband more than 40 years ago.

The deceased, a widow, and Hajaratu’s husband have been secretly seeing each other. On July 31, however, at around 9 p.m., Hajaratu rushed the widow’s house where she had captured them, and she found them in an uncomfortable position.

Sini’s enraged wife chased after him as he fled the room for safety and they continued their argument outside. But in her fury, the deceased followed them outside and, in an effort to protect her newfound guy, got into a fight with the suspect.

Hajaratu, who became wild, used a stick in her possession and hit the deceased on her head as a result of which she fell down and was later confirmed dead after she was rushed to hospital for treatment.

While parading the suspect, the Commissioner of Police, S.K. Akande, said that she will be charged to court soon.
