Nine children were reportedly injured after a vigilante member shot at them while playing football in Edo State.
The incident happened in Enabulele Street, Ogida Quarters of Edo State.
According to report, the suspect, one Abdurahma Agbontaen angrily shot at the children after he had warned them to stop playing football in his area.
According to the suspect, the children had allegedly destroyed his properties in the past with their football.
It was gathered that when the children paid deaf ears to his warning, the suspect angrily went into his house and brought out a pump-action automatic gun and shot at the children injuring nine of them.
The suspect was arrested for attempted murder and unlawful possession of firearm.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the Edo State police command, SP Bello Kontongs, said the injured kids were taken to Stella Obasanjo Hospital for treatment.
He added that the suspect’s mental heath will be checked as investigation progresses
