Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has taken another jab at President Bola Tinubu by casting doubt on his claims of having completed elementary and secondary school.

Atiku announced this yesterday on his verified X (previously Twitter) account.
“When I woke up this morning, I had no idea how we ended up in this dead end. Before moving on to Children’s Home School in Ibadan, Tinubu said in 1999 that he had gone to St. John’s Primary School in Aroloya, Lagos.

He continued his study in the United States at Richard Daley College and Chicago State University after graduating from Government College Ibadan.
“Curiously, in 2023, Tinubu settled with attending only Chicago State University in the United States,” he posted on Twitter.
Atiku stated that “I am scratching my head. How is that possible? Methinks that all well-meaning Nigerians should be as confused as I am with Tinubu’s declaration that he had no primary and secondary education, yet he has a university degree.”
“You may wish to #AskTinubu how he attained this feat, so that we can learn from his ingenuity.”
Atiku recently initiated an independent legal action against Tinubu in the United States, with case number 23-5099 (N. D. III.), in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
When Tinubu’s academic credentials were requested in a separate lawsuit, it was revealed that he had earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chicago State University.
Meanwhile, Atiku’s U.S. lawyer Angela Liu said that Chicago State University had submitted two certificates verifying Tinubu’s enrollment there.

According to Liu, only two people signed the second certificate while three signed the first.
She made the comments over the weekend in response to something Tinubu’s attorneys had submitted.
Counsel for Tinubu, Oluwole Afolabi and Christopher Carmichael, claim that a university clerk made an error in the date the school listed on his newly issued certificate, leading to “the appearance of differences.”

Another document, according to Liu, indicates that the President obtained his degree on June 27, 1979, while the first document claims that the certificate was delivered to Tinubu on June 22, 1979.
