The federal government and the Christian Association of Nigeria have been alerted to the terrorists’ plan to wed Azurfa Lois John, a 21-year-old victim of the Kaduna train attack, by one of the negotiating team members, Tukur Mamu.
The Kaduna State University 300-level student and her cousin Peace Aboi, 28, were reportedly among the victims of the March 28, 2022 terrorist attack on the Kaduna-bound AK9 train. Later, Peace was freed together with the other ten captives.
On Friday, August 19, Mamu, a media consultant for controversial Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, revealed this to reporters while discussing the four travelers who had been held captive by terrorists for more than four months before being freed.
One of the terrorists’ top commanders is allegedly in love with Ms. John, according to Mamu.
He nevertheless urged with the Federal Government and other interested parties to step up efforts to secure the release of the 23 victims who are still being held by terrorists since their health conditions, in his words, are appalling and require immediate medical attention.
He asserts that the CAN must not politicize or treat the information lightly and that the appropriate authorities must quickly start speaking with the people responsible for her (Lois) kidnapping before it is too late.
“The purpose of this letter is to inform the federal government, in particular the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), that, if immediate action is not taken to secure the release of Azurfa Lois John, the youngest victim of the train attack, who is 21 years old, the abductors, as they did in the case of Leah Sharibu, have plans to wed her at any moment. This is confirmed by reliable information at my disposal. She is rumored to be in love with one of the senior commanders “he stated.
