On Monday (today), agents of the Department of State Services conducted a raid at the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Abuja headquarters.
The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, reportedly had his office taken over by DSS operatives.
The DSS are seeking a court order to detain Emefiele, who is now on vacation abroad, and the most recent raid comes after that action.
Around midday on Monday, the operatives arrived at the CBN headquarters in 20 vehicles, each with armed guards.
Additionally, the operatives barred any bank employees from entering Mr. Emefiele’s office.
Meanwhile, the secret service was forbidden from holding, inviting, or arresting Emefiele by an Abuja Federal High Court in December 2022.
