In certain locations in the Orlu and Orsu Local Government Areas of Imo state, security personnel engaged unidentified gunmen in a gunfight on Sunday.
Residents were forced indoors for safety as a result of the gun war that broke out Saturday night, which also drove some to flee into the bushes.
According to an intelligence officer who talked to Vanguard, the security personnel attacked the affected regions on the basis of information that the unidentified gunmen were reassembling to carry out attacks.
On Sunday morning, a guest house, also known as an Inland guest house or a ukwu Aki guest house, was demolished from the locations of the gunfight.
The afflicted locations were Amanachi and Awo-idemili in the state’s Orsu Local Government Area at the time this report was filed.
Orlu town, beginning with Banana Junction and its surroundings, witnessed the intensity of the war.
According to a source from one of the impacted villages, “There were casualties during the gun war, but he did not specify if the losses belonged to the security personnel or the unidentified gunmen.”
