Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana was reportedly involved in a horrific accident en route from the country’s capital, Yaounde, to Douala.
The Ajax star traveled by road to join the rest of Cameroon’s squad as they prepare for their 2022 World Cup qualifier against Algeria.
However, a report by Cameroon-based journalist Njie Enow via his Twitter @NjieEnow stated that the goalkeeper was not injured in the incident and is still focused on the game against The Desert Foxes.
“Andre Onana is fine. I just spoke to Andre Onana, Cameroon and the Ajax goalkeeper, after his incident this morning.
“He told me, ‘I’m fine and I’m going camping. We have an important game,'” Eno wrote.
Apart from the car involved in the crash, no one was injured, sources said.
Onana was part of the Cameroon team that won the bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021 and hosted by his country.
