There are signs that the country’s electricity supply problem could get worse starting on Wednesday, as Organized Labor has ordered power sector employees to stop working and go on an indefinite strike over outstanding Labour issues with the Transmission Company of Nigeria, or TCN.

The dissatisfied employees are slated to picket the TCN national headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday as a prelude to the strike under the auspices of the National Union of Electricity Employees, or NUEE.

The Union instructed Senior Assistant General Secretaries and Zonal Organising Secretaries to achieve complete compliance in a circular addressed to them on August 15, 2022 and entitled “Call for Action.”
