Elon Musk, an American billionaire, is currently trending on the popular microblogging site Twitter after tweeting his desire to purchase Manchester United of England.
Manchester United Football Club, also known as Man United or simply United, is a professional football team with its headquarters in the Greater Manchester neighborhood of Old Trafford in England.
The team has won numerous football awards, but their current season has been a disappointment when they lost their first two games against Brentford and Brighton.
He tweeted;
“Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome”.
His tweet quickly garnered attention from fans who really wanted it to happen but they were later left disappointed when he added that he was only joking.
A Twitter user asked him – Are you serious?
He replied – No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.
