Kanye West was suspended from Twitter by Elon Musk on Friday “for incitement to violence” after the rapper shared a photo that appears to show a swastika and a Star of David interlaced.

The post was published hours after Kanye West angered people by professing his “love” of Nazis and respect for Adolf Hitler in an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

West had also shared a picture of a shirtless Musk being drenched in water and captioned it : “Let’s always remember this as my final tweet.”

In response, Musk replied: “Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not a bad picture of me.”

Musk, who once referred to himself as a “free speech absolutist,” has frequently stated that he thinks all content that is legal should be allowed on Twitter. Musk also sought to change Twitter after he took over the company in October.

In a lengthy appearance on the Jones-hosted show Infowars, West, now going by the name Ye, ranting about sin, pornography, and the devil, wore a black mask that fully covered his face.

“I like Hitler, ” West said repeatedly

Under a mask with no eye or mouth openings, West entirely covered his face.

But Jones referred to him as West while they were speaking, Infowars identified West as the subject of the interview, and at one point Jones snatched West’s phone and sent a tweet on his behalf that was immediately visible.

West, who has hinted he is running for US president in 2024, has spoken openly about his struggles with mental illness, but his erratic behavior has continued to raise concerns.

The businessman has seen his commercial relationships crumble after a series of anti-Semitic comments, as the one-time titan of fashion and music appears to have entered a disturbing spiral.
