For this year’s Easter holiday, the Enugu State Ministry of Transport said it will send out no fewer than 300 traffic officers to guarantee smooth traffic flow.

Ogbonna Idike, the ministry’s permanent secretary, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Saturday.

The special Easter traffic control operation, according to Idike, was known as “Obedience to Traffic Rules the Way to Life.”

He stated that the process would take place from April 13 to April 22 and last for ten days.
The traffic officers, he said, would only be assigned to the state’s major cities’ transport and link highways.

He said that in addition to reducing traffic along the state’s main internal highways, they would also be responsible for clearing roadblocks and ensuring that drivers maintain their lane discipline.

Idike said that the ministry would use its motorcycles, tow trucks, and traffic patrol cars to guarantee that the roads were properly monitored and to help drivers and travelers arrive at their destinations on time.
