After gasoline was utilized as a welcome gift, the Lagos government shut down the Havillah event venue in Oniru.
It was learnt that the premises were sealed “for violating public safety rules” by officers from the Lagos Security Commission and the Rapid Response Squad.
The usage of gasoline as a party favor would be looked at, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso stated on Saturday.
Omotoso claimed in a statement that a viral video depicting gasoline being distributed as mementos at a Lagos event venue caught the attention of the government.
He claimed that there was no argument that the action was risky, could cause damage to property and lives, and violated all security protocols in such settings. The Lagos government, he vowed, “would ensure that anyone held accountable for such an act are Stated arrested through the Security Commission.”
“The top priority of the Lagos government is to protect the lives and property of the residents and visitors of Lagos.
Therefore, we advise against taking any measures that can lead to the loss of life or property,” Omotoso continued.
