Darcey Corria, Miss Wales, has been injured in a car accident and admitted to a hospital close to Bridgend, South Wales.

The tragic incident caused the beauty queen to break two bones in her neck and pelvis, and she was brought to the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff for treatment, according to UK Daily Mail on Saturday.

According to her spokesperson:

“Her event organisers well as her family, are hopeful and confident that she will still be able to do this thanks to the incredible team of medics at UHW and her own personal determination.”

Corria was crowned Miss Wales 2022 in May last year and will compete for Wales in the Miss World competition coming up by May 2023.
