Former Minister of Water Resources, Sarah Ochekpe has been sentenced to three months in prison by the Federal High Court in Jos on Tuesday.

Ochekpe, a former minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan, was convicted along with Raymond Dabo, former leader of the Plateau State People’s Democratic Party, and Leo-Sandy Jitong, Plateau state coordinator of Jonathan Campaign Organization .

The three accused have been on trial since 2018 over money laundering and conspiracy charges brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for a total of more than N450 million.
