The Kaduna State Government said that the Nigerian Army’s troops had found batteries and 27 bags of fertilizer that had been used by terrorists to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the state.
In a statement released on Thursday, Samuel Aruwan, the state commissioner for internal security and home affairs, revealed this.
The Operation Forest Sanity forces searched a camp belonging to a bandit named Lawal Kwalba in Rafin Dawa, in the state’s Chikun Local Government Area, where they allegedly found the fertiliser bags.
Given the bandits’ connections to terrorists, Aruwan asserted that the discovery of fertilizer indicates that there are probably plans in place to produce IEDs.
Before the troops arrived at the camp, the bandits fled, but Aruwan added that the soldiers were able to make an arrest some distance away from the camp, who would then be profiled and investigated.
He mentioned that the soldiers had found two cell phones and a motorcycle.
As previously reported, President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday gave the military the order to flush out and kill terrorists from their hideouts.
