A 21-year-old man who goes by name Chukwudi has killed his mother and father in Nnewi, Anambra state.
The only son of Mr. and Mrs. Micheal Ulor from Nsukka, Enugu State, the suspect is reportedly a student at a university in Anambra.
The bodies were discovered with machete wounds on Thursday evening, September 22, 2022, in their apartment at Mr. Moses Nnodu’s property, Abubor Nnewichi-Nnewi, close to Orie Agbo Market.
According to reports, the suspect’s parents refused to give him money, which allegedly led to a quarrel between them and the suspect.
Chukwudi is thought to have murdered his parents three days ago before escaping to an unidentified location.
According to reports, neighbors who began perceiving foul odors coming from their bedroom were the ones who found the corpses. Additionally, it was asserted that Chukwudi uses Mkpurummiri and is a drug addict (Methamphetamine)
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, who confirmed the incident on Friday September 23, said it has launched a manhunt for the suspect.
“The commissioner of police, CP Echeng Echeng described the discovery of the already decomposing dead bodies in an apartment in Nnewi on 22/9/2022 at about 5:20 pm with machete cuts, as an act of man’s inhumanity to man.
“He has ordered an immediate manhunt of the suspect. He further directed the immediate transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.”
