The Oyo State government has blocked off some commercial banks and phone masts near the city of Ibadan.

During an enforcement tour of the city of Ibadan, the Enforcement team of the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, led by the Director, Land Use Charge, Esv. Olufisayo Ogunbiyi, stated that the action was a result of non-compliance with payment of income to the coffers of the state government.
The commercial banks and the telecom companies received notifications before the enforcement team visited them, according to the Director of Land Use Charge.
He promised that their premises will be opened for business after they had paid the appropriate Land use fee.

He said that because the Oyo State Government has zero tolerance for non-compliance with its rules, all company owners should make sure to pay fees to the state government account to prevent the disruption of their operations while the exercise is still in progress.
The Director of Land Use Charge also urged state people to send questions to the Ministry via email at lands@oyostate.gov.ng or by calling 0700 OYO LANDS (070069652637).
While people can make an online payment by downloading the Oyo State Property Reference System (OYPRS) through the Google Play Store or App Store, which will identify the building/property and land use charge outstanding, ratepayers can also pay land use charges by visiting pay.lands.oyostate.gov.ng.
Land officers and members of Private Networks Nigeria Ltd., the IGR Consultant for the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, were on the team that went out for the enforcement.
