Passengers were left stranded and prevented from heading to their destinations following an exchange of fire between bandits and operatives of the Nigerian Army at the Kaduna International Airport, on Saturday afternoon.
Daily Report Nigeria gathered that the incident occurred about 12:30 pm, leading to a temporary shutdown of activities at the Airport.
An AZMAN aircraft billed for Lagos was set for take off when the bandits invaded the runway.
However, none of the aircrafts at the airport was attacked by the marauding bandits.
The incident led to reinforcement and deployment of more soldiers to the airport in a bid to ensure full security.
The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Jalige Mohammed, was yet to comment on the incident as of press time.
