A fake Army captain named Andy Teddy Edwards, 39, has been arrested for armed robbery by detectives from the Lagos State Police Command.

The fake soldier would invite women for auditions while assuming the identity of a modeling agent. At gunpoint, he would then rob the women of their cars and valuables.

One of his victims reported that her Lexus RX330 SUV had been stolen, prompting a thorough investigation that resulted in his arrest.

One Ford Edge SUV with the license plate KRD 276 EG, one sewing machine, one POS machine with six SIM cards, two pairs of military camouflage outfit, and one number plate — AFL 469 GD — were all found in the suspect’s house.

The spokesperson for the state police command confirmed the arrest and told reporters that an investigation was ongoing. She also urged the owner of the Ford SUV to come forward and claim it. He further said that after the inquiry was over, the suspect would be jailed.
