The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry made donations to charities working in Nigeria few hours after Meghan Markle revealed that she is 43% Nigerian.

A Spotify spokeswoman confirmed that the couple’s Archewell Foundation contributed to Save the Children and UNICEF in a press release that accompanied the show.

Unspecified donations to the charities, according to the spokeswoman, “will help offer relief following devastating floods wreaking havoc in Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, Save the Children Nigeria said on Twitter:

More than 1.5 million children are at risk after devastating flooding in Nigeria.

“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation has donated to Save the Children in Nigeria as our teams deliver life-saving supplies to affected families.”

The Floods in the country have killed more than 600 people and displaced around 1.4 million.

It has equally damaged or destroyed 440,000 hectares of farmland across Nigeria, according to reports.
