Nigerian Popular disc jockey, Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, may regret going back to school last year, saying: “This has cost me a lot in my music career.”
The daughter of billionaire entrepreneur, Femi Otedola announced in March last year that she was back in school to pursue a Masters in African Studies at the University of Oxford in the UK.
She shared a photo of her letter with the offer, as well as a video updating her parents about the development on Instagram.
But in a tweet on Wednesday morning, the singer complained that the program had seriously disrupted her growth in the country’s music industry.
“Some days I’m at @UniofOxford deeply regretting doing a 3rd university degree because I feel like it’s affecting my progress in the music industry. But some days like this, I’m really proud of myself and I know that education empowers me to be greater in every aspect of my life,” she tweeted in her dilemma.
This will be the Cuppy’s second master’s degree. She bagged one
in Music Business degree from New York University in 2015, including a bachelor’s degree.
