Rema has seen his song ‘Calm Down’ being selected for Spotify’s Songs of Summer 2023 playlist.

‘Calm Down’ has had enormous global success since its release in February 2022, making it the biggest export of Afrobeats.
Rema’s “Calm Down” was included in Spotify’s global Song of Summer list, which was published on August 23, 2023, for US and international listeners.

The global song of the summer list, which was topped by ‘Ella Baila Sola’ by Latino musicians Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma, has Rema’s “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez at number 20.
The global list also includes tracks by American superstar Miley Cyrus, Latino streaming juggernaut Bad Bunny, British hip-hop duo Dave & Central Cee, and British pop artist Harry Styles.
The lone African song on the list is Rema’s “Calm Down,” and Rema is the only African performer who made the cut.
‘Calm Down’s’ amazing global success, which included it topping charts in North Africa, the Middle East, and India, won’t surprise listeners that it’s on the list.
The song also holds the record for the highest-charting song by a Nigerian on both the UK Official Chart and the Billboard Hot 100.
