Alhaji Mohammed Sani Musa, the senator for the state’s Niger East Senatorial District, was not the victim of an attempted murder, according to claims from the Niger State Police Command.

The Sun  claims that on Saturday night, December 3, 2022, the state capital of Minna narrowly escaped an assassination attempt by unidentified gunmen.

It was learned that the alleged attackers hired two individuals, both of whom were fully armed and wearing military uniforms, and they preceded them to the senator’s residence along the well-known former Alheri Clinic road in the Tunga neighborhood of Minna at around 8:00 pm.

Unknown to them, the Senator had left Kagara Township Stadium, the seat of Rafi Local Government, and traveled to Abuja after attending the ceremonial ceremony for the “Coronation and presentation of Staff of Office” to the 2nd Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmed Garba Gunna (Attahiru 11).

An insider informed the newspaper that the suspects had claimed to have heard from someone that the senator’s home was home to a stockpile of weapons and ammo as well as some foreign currency.

As soon as news reached a close ally of the senator who serves as Special Adviser to Governor Sani Bello on political matters, Alhaji Nma Kolo, that some armed men had invaded the senator’s house, they attempted to enter the house before their luck ran out.

It wasn’t an assassination attempt, according to DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the state police command’s spokeswoman, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday.

Four of the suspects, according to the PPRO, have been detained for criminal conspiracy and impersonation.

According to him, the suspects stated that one Sherrif, a claimed whistleblower who allegedly claimed to be employed by an Abuja security agency, was responsible for mobilizing them.
