Nigeria’s former deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu who has spent his Christmas and New Year behind bars wishes to see the sky again

In June 2022 the Ex-Senate President and his wife Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu were arrested at Heathrow Airport for human trafficking and organ harvesting of one Mr. David Nwamini.

according to the report, Ike Ekweremadu and his Family started treating David like a slave after a Kidney transplant preliminary test at a London Hospital failed to match their daughter’s Kidney.

After bringing Mr. David to the United Kingdom for an organ transplant Ike Ekweremadu allegedly planned to send him back to Nigeria.

60-year-old Ekweremadu, his wife Beatrice, and some other person will face trial on the 31st of January this year.

The bail application for the ex-senator was dismissed, while the wife was granted bail based on some conditions, according to the prosecutor, it would be risky to grant a man like that bail.

Their bail rejection came after the prosecutor read a letter written by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). on the 18th of July 2022, to back their stand for opposing bail.

according to the sitting judge on his bail application, Ekweremadu had three different passports on him when he was arrested. He further said that the formal Senator could easily take any available flight to either the United Arab Emirates or St Kitts and Nevis if granted bail.

A Nigerian by the name Murphy in his comment said let’s justice takes it’s full course. A Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria but with triple citizenship, what’s the moral right of the federal government to seek his bail with the letter from the embassy is commendable. UK courts must have a strong case against this man to refused him bail”.
