On Friday, July 8, several students passed out and at least two others died after suffocating in their school bus in the Aguda region of Lagos state.
Odunsa Mandala, the school bus driver, was driving the students home after the school day had ended.
He allegedly ignored the students’ persistent complaints about their discomfort until the majority of the students on the bus passed out from suffocation.
He raised the alarm when he saw their condition and the students were taken directly to the hospital. Others were transferred to Randle Hospital, while some of them were rushed to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital.
Sadly, two of the students died.
