Nicolas Aina, a Nigerian, has been charged with the murder of his mother Caroline Adeyelu, 64, and seriously wounding his sister Angel Adeyelu, 33, at their family home in Dagenham, East London, United Kingdom.
According to Itv News, the 28-year-old allegedly entered his sister’s bedroom and repeatedly stabbed her with a knife.
Caroline reportedly rushed inside after hearing her daughter screams to find out what was happening, but the suspect allegedly lunged at her with the knife before running from the scene in Auriel Avenue.
Aina’s mother was declared dead at the scene, but his sister was treated for stab wounds in a hospital and discharged.
Samantha Southey, a neighbor who lived close to the victims’ home, reportedly claimed to have heard the noise caused by the incident.
She said;
“I just heard a bit of commotion last night. The police knocked on the door and said they caught the person. It’s a little bit frightening.”
According to reports, Aina was charged with murder and attempted murder when he appeared before Judge Philip Katz KC on November 1 at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court.
He was kept in custody and ordered to show up in court on Thursday at the Old Bailey.
Superintendent Richard Vandenbergh, a detective with the East Division Command Unit, described the incident as “really shocking.”
