The Senegalese secretary general of FIFA, Fatma Samoura has said that Senegal will use witch doctors to fix Sadio Mane and get him play for Senegal in the World Cup in Qatar as quickly as possible.

Despite suffering a leg injury this week, Mane is now anticipated to be part of Senegal’s World Cup squad, a source within the national football federation told AFP on Thursday. Mane was first thought to miss the tournament.

Fatma Samoura has said that the country would do everything in its power to ensure that he is there. She also acknowledged that they are not even sure if the novel approach will be successful, but they are praying for “miracles.”

she told Europe 1:

“We are going to use witch doctors, I don’t know (if they’re effective) but in this instance, we’re going to use them anyway. We are hoping for miracles. He has to be there!”

The former Liverpool star will be included, a source informed AFP, despite hobbling off the field during Bayern Munich’s 6-1 victory against Werder Bremen last week, which led to rumors that he would be excluded from the tournament.

The source stated that Sadio Mane “will be on the list tomorrow,” with coach Aliou Cisse expected to reveal his squad on Friday.

Mane was taken off the field after just 20 minutes on Tuesday, raising concerns about his readiness for Qatar less than two weeks before the World Cup begins. Mane finished second to Karim Benzema in this year’s Ballon d’Or voting.

The diagnosis was that he had fractured his right fibula. Bayern stated that he would undergo more tests in the coming days.

The insider stated that Mane “remains calm, he’s professional, and he recognizes that injury is part of the job.”

He won’t be on the field when Bayern plays Schalke on Saturday in their last game before the World Cup.
